The Roads I Wish I Could Rewrite

Sometimes I wonder how different my life would look if I had taken another route — a different street, a different school, a different train. There are people I wish I could unmeet, moments I wish I could unlive, versions of myself I wish I could return to. Life has a way of making you replay the scenes you never asked for, the ones that still sit heavy in your spirit.

But even in the confusion, even in the parts that still sting, I’m learning that God doesn’t waste encounters. Every person arrives with a purpose — some to stretch you, some to break you open, some to teach you what your spirit can survive. Some show you love, some show you truth, and some show you the parts of yourself you still need to heal.

Maybe the lesson isn’t in the path I chose, but in the faith it takes to keep walking forward. Maybe it’s trusting that even the detours were part of the plan. That even the people I wish I could erase were placed there to reveal something I needed to see.

I’m learning to stop questioning the route and start honoring the growth. Because God’s plan isn’t always comfortable, but it’s always intentional. And sometimes the hardest chapters are the ones that shape you the most.
